All BHS parents are invited to attend the BHS Booster Meetings. They are held once a month in the Commons Area. The last meeting will be held Sunday, May 5th at 7:00 p.m.

BHS Calendar Available
There is a new calendar of Bismarck High events available online.
It can be found by clicking Calendar at the top of this page. Scroll down toward the bottom and you will see a Google calendar entitled Bismarck High Calendar.
This will keep you updated on various academic and fine arts related events throughout the year. Athletic events can be found by going to the individual sports' webpage or the Activities Office webpage.
You can click on the events to see more details such as time, location, etc.
We hope you find this calendar useful in your planning.

BHS Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held at Bismarck High School on the following dates:
Monday, October 1, 2012
Thursday, November 1, 2012
Monday, February 25, 2013
Thursday, April 4, 2013
Conferences are held from 4:15 -8:00 p.m. each of those nights. Parents are invited to stop by when it is convenient for them. All of the teachers will be seated alphabetically in the Karlgaard Gymnasium. The counselors, special education teachers and administrators are available in their offices/classrooms to visit with parents.
Conferences are held twice each semester. This gives parents an opportunity to follow up with teachers on their student's progress before the end of the semester. Parents are not required to attend all four nights but are certainly welcome to do so.

Sports Physicals will be Required Annually
At the North Dakota High School Activities General Membership meeting January 28, 2010 in Bismarck, representative school administrators passed an amendment to the NDHSAA Constitution and By-Laws concerning student physical examinations.
Starting with the 2010-11 school year, student athletes participating in NDHSAA sanctioned sports programs will be required to file a pre-participation health history screening and physical examination with their school office prior to their participation on a yearly basis.
Previously, student athletes participating in NDHSAA sanctioned sports were required to have a physical examination every 2 years. The purpose of changing from every 2 years to every year is to protect athletes from any undiscovered health concerns. School administrators passed the amendment 68/7.

Tutoring Available for Your Student
Tutoring is offered at Bismarck High School every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning. Teachers are available in their classrooms from 7:30 a.m. to 8:10 a.m. those three days.
Any student may attend tutoring if he or she would like extra help in a subject. Teachers may request that a student attend tutoring to make up any missing assignments or tests. If a student fails to show up for tutoring three times, a letter is sent home to the parents and the student loses test exemption.
If you have any questions about the tutoring program, please consult your student's teacher(s) or call the school secretary at 323-4800.
