Kraft Wins 4th Tournament Of The Year
The Heart River Golf Course in Dickinson plays as one of the most difficult in the west region due to its length and hazards. However, today it played especially difficult due to the heavy winds in the area. Only three players broke 90 today. Laura Kraft of Jamestown won her 4th tournament of the year by shooting an 80. The 80 included a score of 37 on the back nine. Emma Kusick of Minot, who was the medalist in Rolla last week, took second place with an 87. The third best score was posted by the JV medalist, Katie Nelson, of Century, who shot an 89. Minot won their 3rd team title in a row by beating Century by 5 shots. Minot had a team score of 364 and Century a 369. Bismarck High shot a team score of 500, with Sierra Deringer posting her personal best tournament score of 116 and Ashley Doppler her personal best tournament score of 124. Also posting scores for the Demons varsity were Gretta Gilje (130), Kylie Fettig (130), Katie Kasper (140) and Ciara Schock (146). Sassy Schettler played in her first tournament at a regulation length course. Congratulations Demons!
