Meet the Coaches

Hinderer
Coach Hinderer

A native of Flasher, Hinderer graduated from Flasher High School in 1995, where he was a multi-sport athlete participating in basketball, football, and track. Hinderer acquired his Bachelor degree in Elementary Education from Dickinson State University in 2000. He got his coaching start as the assistant women's' basketball coach at Dickinson State University under Tara Kreklau. In 2001, Dallas served as the Head Girls' basketball coach in Ellendale, ND and 7 seasons as an assistant boys' basketball and track coach at Century High School. Last year, Hinderer's Demons finished the year with a 3rd place finish at State. Hinderer is in his 4th year as the Demons head basketball coach.

In 2005, Dallas obtained his Masters in Administration from the University of Mary.

Hinderer teaches 5th grade at Centennial Elementary for Bismarck Public Schools. Dallas and his wife Nicole have two children, Trayton, 8, and Ryker, 5.

Shetler
Coach Shetler

Bill is beginning his fifth year with the Demon girls program. He was an assistant on the 2009 state championship team. As the sophomore A coach, He led the girls to the consolation championship in 2009. Bill is a social studies teacher at Bismarck High School. Bill is a native of South Dakota and he graduated from Sturgis High School. Bill attended the University of Mary where he was a guard for the Marauder Men's basketball program from 2003-2007. Bill was also a two year member of the Marauder track and field program. Bill and his wife, Natalie, welcomed their first son, Lucas, in July.

Pickett
Coach Pickett

Elizabeth (Beth) Pickett grew up in Bismarck graduating from Century High School where she competed for CHS in basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, and as a vocalist. Upon High School graduation, she received academic and music scholarships to attend the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks where she earned her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Music Education. While attending UND, she was an avid national anthem vocalist for UND athletics. She is currently in her eighth year with the Bismarck Public School District as a music specialist at Will-Moore Elementary. In addition, she instructs the 6th grade band, 4th - 6th orchestra, and the All-City Children's Choir. From 2004 - 2007, she also assisted coaching the 8th grade girls' basketball team at Simle Middle School, and is now in her 4th year coaching with the Demons.

Coach Nustad

Paige Nustad is a 2011 Bismarck High graduate and was a member of the 2009 state class A girls' championship basketball team. She is currently a sophomore at the University of Mary double majoring in Athletic Training and Physical Education and health. In addition to coaching basketball she coaches fastpitch softball with Demons in the spring. This is Paige's second year as part of the Bismarck High girls basketball coaching staff.




Kulas
Coach Kulas

Nick grew up in East Grand Forks, MN and graduated from the University of North Dakota in 2007. He began teaching at Bismarck High that fall and he currently teaches biology and chemistry while also coaching freshman girls' basketball. Nick played football, basketball, and baseball in high school and this is his 5th year coaching in the girls' basketball program at BHS. In his spare time you can probably find him doing something outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, golfing, and umpiring baseball.

Bruenjes
Coach Bruenjes

Brittni is beginning her third season of coaching for the BHS Demons. She graduated from Valley City High School where she competed in basketball, volleyball, and track. After high school, Brittni attended NDSU on a track scholarship and is currently on NDSU's top ten list for the long jump and the triple jump. She earned her elementary education degree from Valley City State University and is currently teaching third grade at Sunrise Elementary School in Bismarck.

Four-time state champion in the triple jump... Also captured the state title in the long jump... Had prep bests of 38-8 1/4 and 18-9 in the events, both school records... Has a 25.95 clocking in the 200, also a school record... Six-time letterwinner in track & field, four times in basketball, three times in gymnastics and twice in volleyball... All-state selection in volleyball as a senior... Named all-conference on the hardwood as a junior and a senior... Was the state's leading rebounder both seasons.
